In 1973 Carlo BUZZI purchased the current company "Podere Grecchi", located in the municipality of Vitorchiano (VT) in the locality of the same name, to cultivate it exclusively with cereals and hazelnuts. In 1999, his sons Massimo and Sergio undertook a detailed study of the area, analyzing the quality of the land and its exposure. Thanks to the support of some teachers from the University of Tuscia, the first 2 hectares of vineyards were planted in 2000. In subsequent years the vineyard area was expanded to reach the current 12 hectares. In choosing the vines, essentially two parameters were used: the first aimed at highlighting the native varieties; the second to identify international vines that are well suited to the nature of the company soils.

In 2003 the vineyard began to produce its first products and it immediately became clear that the quality of the grapes was excellent, so much so that it induced the Buzzi family to undertake the winemaking activity which in 2006, with the advice of the oenologist Daniele DI MAMBRO, would produce the first PDO red wines “POGGIO FERRONE” and “SANTIROSSI” and the PGI white “POGGIO GRECCHI”. From this year onwards, given the appreciation received, the following were also born: the PGI "SAN SILVESTRO" from Grechetto grapes, the PGI "MOSCATO DI GRECCHI" from Moscato Bianco grapes, the PGI "POGGIO NIBBIO" from Sauvignon Blanc grapes , the PGI “ELIANDRÈ” from viognier grapes, the rosé PGI “STRA'DI ROSA” from violone grapes. Particular attention is dedicated to the vinification of "IL FEDELE", the only white DOP company, the result of a careful study on ancient lipstick vines recovered from a vineyard of approximately 80/100 years old located near the company. To date, the Podere Grecchi company is one of the few companies in Tuscia that is trying to make the most of two native vines that have been rediscovered and highly appreciated for some years: lipstick (or roscetto in the local dialect) and grechetto.
