Great-grandfather Antonino Porcelli began moving the first hives in the early 1900s to make the most of the blooms present in the area. Today Dr. Giuseppe A.Porcelli, now in his third generation of beekeepers, is animated by the same passion for this magnificent insect: the bee.
In 2010, APIFARM ss was founded as an offshoot of the family business, with headquarters in a province, that of Viterbo, among the greenest and least anthropized and therefore most natural, which acts as a backdrop and as a priority supplier of the raw materials used. A nomadic beekeeping company that operates from the lower Maremma to the Cimini Mountains: a wealth of natural environments that can offer a notable type of honey and other hive products that are excellent from a qualitative and organoleptic point of view.
The company has assimilated a philosophy that almost seems to be conditioned by the organization that the bee has within the hive. The management is predominantly family-run, each one deals with a particular sector: production, laboratory and administrative and commercial division.
Being beekeepers means taking care of the hive in which a colony lives, watching over its development, managing to understand its behavior and respecting its natural way of life.
Apifarm has around 600 hives located in the Tuscia area of Viterbo from which it collects different types of honey at the end of each season.
Apifarn was born as a parapharmaceutical company with a small production of honey and marketing of other hive products, such as pollen, propolis and royal jelly.
